In-office teeth whitening is typically safer and more effective than home treatments, such as whitening strips, gels, toothpaste, and rinses. Most whitening products contain hydrogen or carbamide peroxide, but in-office treatments have higher concentrations. 

Dr. Molnar can dramatically brighten your smile with professional solutions while protecting your gums, lips, and other tissues. In-office whitening is particularly beneficial if you have sensitive teeth.

When you arrive for in-office teeth whitening, Dr. Molnar performs a comprehensive dental exam and teeth cleaning to ensure the highest level of safety and effectiveness. Next, he covers your lips and gums with protective barriers before applying the whitening gel directly to your teeth. A special LED dental light activates the gel, which he removes after about 15 minutes.

Dr. Molnar repeats this process three times or until you achieve your desired shade. The whole  process takes less than one hour.

Teeth whitening results can last for more than one year with proper care. To help maintain your smile, Dr. Molnar offers take-home trays. These custom-made trays are more effective than over-the-counter products and less likely to cause sensitivity or irritation. Take-home trays distribute the whitening gel evenly to remove new stains efficiently.

Along with take-home trays, Dr. Molnar may recommend:

• Drinking less coffee and tea
• Refraining from red wine 
• Limiting consumption of soy sauce, marinara, and curry
• Brushing and flossing more frequently
